Lovely idea and great to see a recipe for tuna empanada. Happy memories of going to a mussel festival near Vigo in NW Spain. Locals in a school hall and mussels prepared every way plus empanada pie. So pleased to see the 'English' wanting their traditional food, they made space on the packed long tables.

Perhaps you also know nearby Isla de Arousa? Been there many times and it's a great place for mussels, the island is surrounded by mussel rafts.

We were staying in the 2000s in Cangas surrounded by mussel rafts. I don't remember Isla de Arousa. Beautiful area and so welcoming to British tourists in northern Spain.

Isla de Arousa is a bit further north. But Cangas sounded familiar, so I just looked up my old photos and I see I was there briefly in June 2007 - we'd do a whole day's driving around a particular area, stopping off here and there and looks like Cangas was one of them.
